Class Geometry (utopia-distopia), 2011, Vídeo-loop, 2′ 60”
“Class Geometry” belongs to a line of visual investigation that PSJM calls ‘social geometry’. It creates arrangements with an emphatic formal reduction based on statistical data.
In “Class Geometry” divisions are established between rotating schematic volumes, which represent different social classes (upper class, middle class, lower class). The video work in 3D shows two possibilities for the development of the global social object: one is utopian and the other is dystopian. Unfortunately the last one matches current tendency to eradicating middle classes.
